House training, crate routines, biting and the first manners, coached while you do them.
Virtual dog training: one-on-one coaching from home
Virtual dog training is live video coaching: the trainer watches you and your dog on camera and guides you through each exercise in your own home and neighborhood. For now virtual training is available to Florida residents only, and we plan to open it to more states. Tell K9PN what you want to work on and we will refer you to a trainer.
- Free to request, takes about two minutes
- One-on-one video coaching with a professional trainer
- A trainer calls you back
Where virtual coaching helps most
It works best for skills you can practice at home with a trainer guiding you.
Loose-leash walking and polite greetings, practiced in your own neighborhood.
Jumping, barking, counter surfing and other habits that happen in your home.
Building a reliable come-when-called in your yard or a safe space.
A way to keep going after board and train or in-person lessons.
Sessions from home, without driving to a training site.
From request to trainer in three steps
K9PN is a referral service. We do not train dogs. Trainers set their own prices and programs.
Share your dog's age and breed, whether you want board and train, 1-on-1 sessions or virtual training (Florida only for now), and where you live. It takes about two minutes and costs nothing.
K9PN is a referral service. Based on what you need and where you live, we refer your request to a professional trainer who offers it.
The trainer calls you to talk through your goals, pricing and scheduling. You decide whether it is a fit.
How a virtual session works
You join a video call from a phone, tablet or laptop. The trainer watches your dog, shows you each exercise and coaches you in real time as you try it. Some trainers record the session so you can watch it again and practice with the same instructions.
What you need
- A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and a steady internet connection
- A leash, treats or a toy your dog likes and a collar or harness you already use
- A space where your dog can move, such as a living room, yard or quiet street
- Some time between sessions to practice what you learned
When virtual is not enough
Virtual coaching is not the right place to start for every dog. If your dog has bitten someone, shows serious aggression or has severe separation anxiety, most trainers will want to evaluate your dog in person first. Describe your dog honestly in your request so we can match you with the right kind of help.
Virtual or in person?
| Format | Best for | Your involvement |
|---|---|---|
| Board and train | Busy owners, stubborn habits, a head start on foundations | You learn the handling at pickup and keep it up at home |
| 1-on-1 sessions | Learning to handle your dog yourself, behavior problems, puppies | You attend every session and do the homework |
| Virtual training | Foundations and everyday manners from home, flexible schedules | You run each exercise on camera while the trainer coaches you |
How we match you with a trainer
K9PN is not a franchise and not a directory where anyone can pay to be listed. We refer dog owners to experienced, independent trainers, and we look at the things that decide whether training works in real life:
- Real experience. How long the trainer has worked with dogs, what kinds of dogs and problems, and whether the person who trains your dog is the experienced trainer or a junior hire.
- Where your dog actually lives. A dog that spends the program in a crowded kennel room or a stack of crates does not learn to settle in a normal home. We favor trainers who keep few dogs and train in realistic settings.
- Training in the real world. Walks, public places, visitors and house rules, not only drills in one room.
- You are part of it. Lessons at pickup and follow-up, so the results last once your dog is home.

Common questions
Does virtual dog training work?
It can work well for foundations, manners and everyday problems, because you practice with your dog in the places you actually live. Like any training, results depend on how consistently you practice between sessions.
Do I need to live near the trainer?
You do not need to be near the trainer, but for now virtual training is available to Florida residents only. We plan to add more states.
Can virtual training help with reactivity?
Sometimes, especially for mild cases and for learning the handling skills. For serious reactivity or aggression, most trainers want to see your dog in person first.
How much does virtual dog training cost?
Prices vary by trainer and by whether you buy single sessions or a package. Ask for a written price and what each session includes, such as a recording.
Is K9PN a dog training company?
No. K9PN is a referral service and does not train dogs. We pass your request to a professional trainer we work with who offers the kind of training you asked for and serves your area. It costs you nothing to send a request, and you decide whether to work with the trainer who calls you.
